Michelangelo-Renaissance Times
Michelangelo was an Italian sculptor,painter and architect. He was born on March 6, 1475 in Caprese, Italy to a moderate banking family. His Mother died when he was a baby. His father sent him to a family of stonecutters when at his young age. There he enjoyed watching painters work. His father soon realized his interests was in somthing else. He agreed to apprentice him. He worked at a paint shop for a year and then recieved an invitation from Lorenzo de Medici to learn at his palace. He gladly accepted and after Lorenzos death he fled to Rome. In Rome he carved the
famous Pieta. He returned to Florence and carved the David. Then he went back to Rome and painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.

Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso was a spanish artist and sculptor. His Birth was very weak. The Midwife actually thought that he was a stillborn and left him. He would be dead now if his uncle did not come along and blew smoke into his face which made him contract in agony. His father was a local artist and he educated him in art. He introduced what is now known as collage. He was inspired by a great artists called Vincent Van Gogh . Most of his later paintings look very different with a lot of lines.

Similarities and differences between Michelangelo and Picasso
The Similarities are that Picasso and Michelangelo are very famous for their paintings, they have both worked on sculpting and are renowned for their sculptures. Both of them were short tempered and are known to break paintings and sculptures if they did not turn out right. They both have been many influences for modern day artists and their techniques are still used today by many artists around the world. Both of them have unparalleled knowledge of the skill of poetry. Some of michelangelos poems are The First New Year, Dante, The Doom of beauty, Joy may kill, Celestial Love. Pablo picassos poems includes Night Moves and The Morning of the world. Mostly they are about the same topics too . They both started their careers when they were very young and were able to work under many great personalities in the world.
Michelangelo was able to work with florentine Lorenzo de Medici and Picasso was able to work with world famous artist Georges Braques.

Differences between Picasso and Michelangelo
Picasso was also a playwright, printmaker and ceramist. Michelangelo was also an engineer and an architect. Picasso was more about abstract art while michelangelo was more interested in human art and capturing moments from the real world that happened around us. michelangelo worked on commisions like most artists did in that time period.Picasso just did work by himself and painted whatever he wanted.whenever he wanted. Picasso also was a stagedesigner in his past time.
