Filippo Brunelleschi- Renaissance Times

Fillipo was the brave architect who took on the challenge of building the dome of the the Basilica in florence . The Challenge was he had to know how to build a dome. The secret to building domes had been lost when Rome had fallen almost 1600 years ago. He started by visiting the pantheon and started t study it's architecture and he observed many domes and started to build. He used an ingenious idea of cracking eggs and how they stand to make the dome stand. The First hurdle that the task threw at him was how to get people and building matierials to the top of the roof to build. He solved the first problem by adding 340 steps until the starting of the roof and making people work there from first light in morning until sunset. He solved the second problem by using the strong power of oxens to lift things up in a pulley system. To not make workmen have to go down for their luch as they had to come down 340 steps and go up which would probably take till evening . So he just made them take their lunch up in the scaffolding.

Falling Water By Frank Wloyd Wright
Wright was the first one who proposed the idea to build taller. He actually made a plan for a mile high tower. It was called the Mile High Illinois Tower. If it was built it would have still been the tallest building now. He made the plan a mind blowing 528 floors with over 18 million square feet with parking for over 15000 cars and 150 helicopters. But,Unfortunately Wright was already having financial losses and this building needed a lot of money to be built. Some of his houses are now identified as UNESCO world heritage sites and his houses have a lot of value now. One house of his in California went on sale for a staggering 7.7 Million Dollars.

Similarities between Wright and Brunelleschi
They both had a fascination for geometric objects. They started using these models in houses and was able to draw complicated designs and plans using linear perspective.Which was a huge breakthrough. They both are known especially for buliding huge churches in both gothic, classical and renaissance styles in italy and around the world. They both took very big risks in their life.
Differences between Wright and Brunelleschi
Brunelleschi had talent is making things out of gold. He was a master goldmith. He had great knowledge in sculpting and was a good sculptor. He is known for creating freestanding sculptures.
Frank Wloyd wright had more of an interest in actually building houses, offices, churches and schools. He always started with an open plan layout and added no cellars or basements to any buildings he built. He also built buildings in america and the rest of the world.
